Context switching has a cost
Copy text into a separate chat, explain what the fragment is, remember which version you sent, copy the result back, and then decide whether the result belongs in the manuscript. For occasional use this is fine. Repeated use creates another parallel workspace.
AI is most useful for bounded tasks
Generate three alternative formulations. Shorten this passage without removing the argument. Find unclear transitions. Suggest questions an editor might ask. Produce candidate blurbs. Summarize a section for a synopsis. These tasks produce proposals, not authority.
Why AI is not mandatory in B-Maker
A writing project must remain fully usable without a model connection. Otherwise the tool becomes dependent on a service for its core purpose. B-Maker keeps AI optional and lets the user configure the OpenAI Responses API rather than making AI the required center of the product.
