One of the factors determining the success of an organization is the ability of employees to solve assigned tasks and achieve set goals.

Despite the fact that some divisions may have their own management system, usually one dominates the company. Let's look at these models.

Lack of controllability

Some authors undeservedly skip consideration of this model, despite the fact that it is quite common. The peculiarity of this model is that it is a mirror reflection of the value management system - the highest level of management. And opposites, as you know, attract to the point of confusion. It is very similar to it, but unlike that one, it has almost zero efficiency.

The essence of this model is that management is built on the principle - from everyone as possible, to everyone a salary. The fact that the task set by the executive director at an important meeting may not be completed does not surprise anyone at all.

Employees, as in the value-based management system, are engaged exclusively in what they consider necessary, including their own affairs, projects, and startups. It is no coincidence that some companies do not notice that they suddenly find themselves in chaos.

However, this model works quite successfully in a team of like-minded people when creating divisions from scratch or organizing startups, but in a very short period. The task of a competent manager is to make the transition to the next level at the right time, thereby bringing order to the chaos.

Management by task

The manager sets the task, the performer completes it, then the manager checks the result. Resembles the manual control process.

No task - no work. Typically, this system is typical for a technical support service. This management model can be effective if the flow of tasks is organized. By the way, some programmers work according to this model, but do not know about it (kanban).

In the absence of tasks, downtime occurs, which means fixed costs increase.

Process management

This model means management based on developed rules, procedures, processes and regulations.

In order for employees to work according to this model, they must learn to work according to tasks. At this stage, the organization begins to work in semi-automatic mode.

Many departments, for example ServiceDesk, can work effectively using this model. And the procedure for approving contracts, documents and invoices seems to have been created for this model.

Management by objectives

This method of management is carried out on the basis of clearly defined goals. Goals are divided into tasks. Of course, goals and objectives must be at least SMART. We should not forget that the implementation of goals or objectives must be monitored.

This model is suitable for heads of departments, divisions and top managers.

Values Management

It is believed that having reached this level, you will achieve perfection. Management is carried out according to the company's values, so corporate culture comes to the fore.

In such organizations, managers and employees perform tasks not because they need to, but because they want to and see the need. It turns out to be a kind of self-motivation. Employees in their activities are guided by mission and ideology, and not by procedures and rules.

At such moments, employees appear integrity, and the duration of the company’s stay in this management model depends on their ratio to other employees.

The interest of this scheme lies in the fact that growth is possible in stages from level to level (according to HP law), but the fall will most likely be rapid several levels down, and the higher the control system was, the lower the fall will be.
